Dared to Visit Bulingan Falls in Basilan Island Province

"Be brave. Take risks. Nothing can substitute experience."-Paolo Coelho

Finally, I am blogging. Woohooo! This will serve as my journal of my trips, when I say trips it means all that interest me. :)

All along I thought it is expensive to travel, until someone inspired me. Oh man! I am now infected with travel bug. For my first post, I want to share with you what I did in Basilan.

Basilan is one of the provinces that is avoided by other travellers. Me, being an adventurous traveller, dared myself to visit this island and I tag along a friend who is a certified travel blogger.  (Shhhh. He is not yet aware of my blog)

Prior our trip, I was advised by friends to coordinate with the Department of Tourism office located in Basilan.  I tried but being passed on to anyone and asking for my facebook account is a No, No. Why do they need to know my facebook account? In short, I decided to just do this trip my way. On my mind, we will just be extra careful.

Spare me if my post is not as detailed as you expect it because I thought I will only travel for experience.  :)

Staying on topic. Our first day in Basilan, we decided to get an accommodation first in Isabela City where we could leave our belongings, visited the Isabela Church and ate at Font Restaurant then went to Lamitan City. Since I love waterfalls, this is the first on my list.

Bulingan Falls
Who said that Bulingan Falls is not safe to visit? Those who said it as far as I know never tried to check the place. I learned from my habal-habal driver that during Sunday the said place is full of visitors. We went there on Saturday afternoon fortunately there are no visitors other than us.

Cottages

Observe rules please!
Me, taking a dip!

Oh clear fresh water all for myself. ;)

Where else did we go? Our habal-habal driver toured us around Lamitan City.

The biggest church we saw so far in Lamitan.

Lamitan City Hall

And who is the mayor during our visit?

Lamitan Port Terminal

Whoa! There is also ala Holywood signage.

Then our habal-habal dropped us at the terminal heading to Isabela City.

Check out also what we did in Isabela on my next post. Ciao Bella!
